Mario Scott
Born and raised in Germany, I come from a bilingual household with a decorated Army veteran father and a German mother. My athletic journey began in Frankfurt, where I played soccer in the German development system. I attended Giessen High School, a Department of Defense Dependent School, where I excelled in football and basketball, earning All-European honors in both sports. I was also selected twice for the DODDS All-Star Team, representing the United States in a tournament in France.
After high school, I had the opportunity to play at South Carolina State University in the MEAC conference.
In terms of education, I hold three degrees: a B.A in Professional English with minors in Political Science and German from South Carolina State University, an MBA in Management from Loyola University, and a Master’s in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University. I also hold a certification from the NBA GM/Scouting School through Sports Management Worldwide.
As a High School Head Varsity Basketball coach, I led C. Milton Wright High School to a 40-10 record in my first two years there, including a Regional Championship and State Final Four appearance. In my two years my teams also performed extraordinarily well in the classroom in maintaining a GPA of 3.9.
At the AAU Level, I have been a been with the Mid Atlantic Select AAU family in various coaching capacities for over a decade. We are proud to have helped 106 young men earn college scholarships. Notable Harford County alumni include Jordan Steimke (Loyola University) and CJ Keyser (now playing professionally in the Netherlands). We have also had the privilege of coaching NBA players such as Josh Hart, Luka Garza, and NBA Champion Malcom Miller.
As a Certified Basketball Skill development trainer, I have worked with a wide variety of players that range from Professional Basketball players that are sharping their craft to elementary school players who are at the beginning stages of their basketball journeys. I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best talent on both the boys and the girls side of Harford County.
